GEM supported monitor resolutions and Web browsers.

Supported Monitor Resolution

The GatewaySM has been been designed to support monitor resolutions of 800 X 600 pixels and above. However, for an optimal experience, GEM recommends a minimum monitor resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels. By design, we have have enabled your browser to increase or decrease the size of fonts as displayed on your monitor.

Supported Web Browsers

To fulfill its committment to provide useful access to educational resources, GEM technologies are built around Web standards. While every reasonable effort is made to achieve "backward compatability" with old browsers and versions of browsers, such compatability within The GatewaySM will not be achieved by sacrificing contemporary or future standards-based functionality. As a result, should The GatewaySM perform less than optimally in your Web browser, please check to see whether you are using a modern version—contemporary browser versions are free for downloading from their home sites.

The GatewaySM supports modern versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera Software's Opera browser, Netscape Navigator, and Mozilla. These modern browsers support technologies used throughout The GatewaySM such as HTML, XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS1 & CSS2). Such browsers include Mozilla 1.0 and higher, Netscape Navigator 6, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and higher for Windows, and Opera Software's Opera 7 browser.
