Purpose of Comments
The goal of adding comments to educational resources you find in GEM is to assist your fellow teachers in the successful use of those resources. Comments should be constructive and provide "best practice" information regarding successful classroom uses or modifications to the resource.
How to Add a Comment
- Before you can add a comment to a learning resource, you have to join the Gateway and be logged into the system using your Member User Name and Password.
- To add a comment to a learning resource, click on the "View Full Record" link at the bottom of the short information display for that record.

- The full or long record for the learning resource will appear. Click on the "Add GEM Comment" in the upper right of the full display.

- The entry form for adding a comment will appear.

- The entry form has two required fields: "Title" and "Body"
- Title. Each comment must have a brief "Title" that gives the reader some sense of the content of the actual comment.
- Body. The "Body" of the comment clearly and briefly expresses the substance of the comment.
- When you are satisfied with the text of your comment, click "save" at the bottom of the form. That is all it takes! Your comment will immediately appear along with the resource record with you listed as the author of the comment.
