Which of You Is a Witch? The Salem Witchcraft Trials and The Crucible
Description:
In this lesson, students will articulate the basic tenets of Puritanism, as well as explain the events leading up to the Salem Witchcraft Trials of 1692. Students will also synthesize and evaluate facts to speculate about the underlying causes of the witch hysteria, and draw connections between the modern world and the events of 1692. Finally, the students will identify the individuals central to the trials and to the play "The Crucible".
