Meteors and Earth Changing Force – Grade Nine
Meteors and Earth Changing Force – Grade Nine
Description:
This lesson introduces students to some of the effects gravitational force has on Earth-system characteristics and
movement patterns. Students will plan and do controlled
experiments to model impact-cratering processes. Students
will use provided data to locate impact craters on Earth.
Students will use experimental data and geophysical
evidence in comparing Earth's impact craters with impact
craters on other celestial objects. Possible extensions to
this lesson include students developing a proposed scientific
study of a potential impact site.
