Beach Party - Grade Seven

Description:
This lesson provides students with an opportunity to participate in an activity that simulates a repeatable experiment. First, students are asked to predict which color of an inflatable beach ball will be touched most often by students as it is passed around the room. The students will toss a beach ball around the class and keep track of the colors that are touched by their hands. The data collected may be organized, analyzed and displayed in a variety of formats. The results are reviewed as the exercise is repeated so that the students see the effect of multiple trials on their experiment.
