Lesson 3: Events and Effects (Amelia Earhart)
Lesson 3: Events and Effects (Amelia Earhart)
Description:
In this lesson, students learn that there are some events in our lives that are significant, while there are other events in our lives that change us forever. Students will examine events in Amelia Earhart’s life, and record the impacts of such events on charts. Finally, the class will come together to discuss how Amelia’s first solo flight made an impact on her long-term ambitions. We will discuss how it feels to do things for ourselves for the first time, rather than have other people help us. Ask: "What does it feel like to succeed at a goal we’ve set for ourselves? How does it impact us?"
