Description:
The Helping Children in Hospitals service-learning project was created to support children during their hospital stay and to give support to children who are ill. Students learn about pediatric hospital care for seriously ill children, and the roles that health care providers and volunteers play in helping hospitalized children. Students also plan, raise funds, promote, and perform a service project for hospitalized children. While this curriculum was developed for use in an after-school program, it can also be used in the classroom.
