In this lesson, students will observe and evaluate the installation of Beverly Semmes' artwork "Four Purple Velvet Bathrobes" to better understand the importance of her artistic choices and inspiration. Students will then work in groups of four to write and perform a one-act play in which each student takes on the character of one of the robes.
