Description:
For this activity, pick 6 to 8 student taggers. The taggers skip and the flee-ers gallop only. Change the locomotor skill each time for variety. Explain to the students that when they are tagged they are to gallop to a hula hoop and become frozen. The teachers will have the die cuts of "hearts" with a math sentence on them. The students who are not tagged go up to a teacher and get a "heart" with a math fact on it and take it to a friend who is frozen in the hula hoop. The person who is frozen takes the "heart" with the math fact on it and has to check the answer sheet posted on the wall for the correct answers to the problem to get back in the game.
