Hoop It Up for a Healthy Body
The purpose of this activity is to allow children to practice naming the various bones in the body in a fun and physically active way. After appropriate instruction concerning the skeletal system and practice naming and labeling major bones in the body, the students will be challenged to twirl the hula hoops on the bones as called aloud by the teacher. This will require that the student remember the location of the bone and demonstrate the coordination required to successfully manipulate the hula hoop.
