Description:
This lesson plan is based on a book entitled "Each Orange has Eight Slices", and focuses on a hands-on exploration of the of slices in an orange. Students peel various oranges and make various observations about the pieces, such as the number, their relative sizes, and whether the number is even or odd. Students record their responses and they make predictions based on their observations. Several follow-up activities are given.
