Beating Heart

Description:
In this challenge, students are asked to figure out on what day their heart will beat for the millionth time, beginning on January 1, 2000. Through this, students can get a better intuitive sense for the magnitude of a million (and other big numbers). A number of resources are provided that students can use if they get stuck. The Getting Started section helps students get on the right track. But if they get, stuck there are hints and a section giving possible solutions. There are also related questions for them to try out their knowledge, interesting background information, and other resources.
