Description:
This challenge asks students to decide whether they would rather receive a fixed daily salary, or a much smaller salary that doubles every day. Through this, students can come to realize that the rapid rate of increase in geometric growth will eventually more than compensate for a smaller starting salary. A number of resources are provided that students can use if they get stuck. The Getting Started section helps students get on the right track. But if they get, stuck there are hints and a section giving possible solutions. There are also related questions for them to try out their knowledge, interesting background information, and other resources.
