Exemplary and Promising Mathematics Programs
Exemplary and Promising Mathematics Programs
Description:
This publication features ten mathematics curriculum programs chosen as either promising or exemplary by the U.S. Department of Education's Mathematics and Science Expert Panel. The panel was established to develop a high-quality, research-based process for selecting programs and to use that selection process to identify exemplary and promising programs. After a careful assessment of the status of mathematics education, the Expert Panel developed a rigorous review process. The first part of the publication includes the criteria used to review materials as well as an overview of the Panel system and what is was designed to achieve. Information includes overviews of programs, costs, related professional development, evidence of effectiveness, educational significance, and more.
