This My Hero project is about Mary Harris, also known as Mother Jones, who was a labor organizer in the U.S. in the late 19th century. She traveled the country advocating for the rights of industrial workers. My Hero is an interactive educational project for children, families, teachers and librarians that encourages use of the Internet as a positive and rewarding educational experience. It uses new communications technologies, in combination with traditional and non-traditional information sources, to promote critical thinking regarding the meaning and impact of heroes and heroism. MY HERO is an interactive site made for the entire family. At the heart of this Internet site is the belief that there are, and always have been, good people and positive role models in every aspect of our daily lives.
