MY HERO is an interactive site made for the entire family. At the heart of this Internet site is the belief that there are and always have been, good people and positive role models in every aspect of our daily lives. Jody Williams has spent more than a decade fighting to rid the world of land mines. In the early 1990s she began the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL)and has been working tirelessly to convince the world's leaders that removing landmines before they harm innocent people was a more effective approach to solving the problem. Together with ICBL she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997.
