MY HERO is an interactive site made for the entire family. At the heart of this Internet site is the belief that there are and always have been, good people and positive role models in every aspect of our daily lives. Ruby Bridges is such a person. She was the first black child to enter an all-white school in the history of the American South, and paved the way for other black children in the then newly-integrated school system. She endured the threats and shouts hurled at her by angry mobs, without showing any fear. Her courage in the face of adversity serve as an inspiration to all who fight injustice and bigotry. She has demonstrated the value of education to others and has devoted her life to the education of the young.
