Adult Role Models in Science (ARMS)

Description:
ARMS is a program designed to enhance science education at the elementary level through long-term community partnerships. Children need to interact with adults who are interested, engaged and passionate about science to become engaged themselves. ARMS works to bring scientists and aspiring scientists into schools as role models and also to help teachers and parents to be role models in science. ARMS helps schools make science real and meaningful and gives teachers the tools to bring science to life through professional development opportunities. Seven Madison schools participate in ARMS: Frank Allis, Emerson, Hawthorne, Lake View, Lincoln, Lowell, and Mendota.
