NOVA - Deadly Shadow of Vesuvius
Students study earthquakes and volcanoes, learning how each relate to the earth's crust and lithospheric plates. Students research recent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, plot each on maps, and compare their maps to student-created maps of the earth's lithospheric plates. Students also discuss different kinds of natural hazards and state EMA plans to deal with emergencies.
