Women in the Labour Force

Description:
This activity focuses on the role of women in Canada?s labour force. It examines labour force participation rates, mothers in the labour force, the link between education level and the likelihood of employment, occupation categories, and wages. Topics such as family responsibilities and changes in the kinds of jobs in which women are employed are considered as well. Students are presented with five statements about women in the labour force. Using text and tables from a data pack, students work through a series of questions for each statement to determine if the statement is correct.
