CT-N Legislative Session Viewing Activity: "To Attend or Not To Attend"
Description:
Starting July 1, 2001, this bill requires students to stay in school until age 18, instead of age 16, unless (1) they graduate from high school or (2) their parents or others having control over them consent to their leaving school at age 16 or 17. This large group discussion offers students the opportunity to examine opposing viewpoints, analyze material, and develop solutions to a complicated issue of required school attendance.
