Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles

Description:
This is one of those will-of-the-wisp sites with sub-sites piled onto sub-sites ad infinitum as its creator follows his fantasy. He presents mathematical puzzles, history, famous problems, geometry in general and fractals in particular, a variety of proof techniques, and a thoughtful discussion of the classical unsolvable problems. It is impossible to even begin to describe this forum for math enthusiasts—this is a mine of information that will give hours of entertainment to the trained professional and the advanced student. There are a few questionable statements but nothing dangerous except for the occasional nomenclature not defined near the problem or not defined at all. The "statistics" subsection seems to be empty. In general, I was delighted and plan to spend much time following the trails. For those interested in the teaching of mathematics, there is a lead-in to the "Math Forum Project," perhaps the most efficient tool for teaching and understanding mathematics at all levels from K-12 to Graduate College. It contains the famous "Ask Dr. Math" site, a selection of discussion groups at all levels and a teacher-to-teacher discussion site. Highly recommended.
