Explaining How Things Work
Explaining How Things Work
Description:
After watching a demonstration or learning how to do something, students write an essay explaining the process to someone who has never seen it. They observe carefully, take notes and make sketches, select relevant details, and sequence actions before they begin to write. This activity can be used in conjunction with a field trip to a museum where an educational demonstration is conducted, or in conjunction with any other "how-to" activity.
