Antibiotic Resistance: Not Just for People Anymore

Description:
Hospitals kill. According to the educational news source Health Sentinel, every ear 88,000 people in the United States die from infections acquired in hospitals--more than the number that die from breast and prostrate cancer combined. One reason why this number is so high is that many infections are antibiotic-resistant, meaning they do not respond to one or more of the drugs commonly used to treat them.
