The Living Edens - Borneo: A Batty Mapping Method

Description:
In this study of echolation, students test the minimum distance at which an echo can be heard, draw an echo map which uses reflected sound waves to gauge distance, and relate what they've learned to bats' sensory mechanisms. Calculations using the speed of sound are required. As an extension activity, local law enforcement officials may talk about radar detection.
