Plants and Animals: Partners in Pollination
Plants and Animals: Partners in Pollination
Description:
"Plants and Animals: Partners in Pollination" includes three lesson plans. In Lesson One, students identify the plant parts involved in reproduction, identify the animal (bee) structures involved in pollination, and demonstrate how pollen moves from the male stamen to the female stigma. In Lesson Two, students interpret the links between pollination and food production. In Lesson Three, students describe the complementary relationship between pollinators and the plants they pollinate and identify adaptations that flowers have developed to "encourage" pollination. Each of the three lesson plans has the same elements: statement of learning objectives; list of required materials; step-by-step procedures; and student handouts (available in both html and Adobe Acrobat format). The unit also includes a background essay, a Take Home Page, and a list of additional resources, including web sites.
