The Coconut Wireless Project: Sharing Culturally Responsive Pedagogy through the World Wide Web
The Coconut Wireless Project: Sharing Culturally Responsive Pedagogy through the World Wide Web
Description:
WestEd staff, in collaboration with PREL, worked intensively with five Chamorro teachers at Rota Elementary School in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to develop culturally responsive, standards-based science units. This report documents the process that teachers used and summarizes project outcomes which also can be integrated into non-scientific disciplines. Part of the project assisted teachers with web-based learning and using the Internet to enhance classroom instructions.
