Copyright Statement for ASN
All content in the ASN Achievement Content Standards Repository (ACSR) is protected under U.S. and international copyright laws by both the promulgating agencies of the state and national standards contained therein. A full description of intellectual property rights is available here.
Licensing at a Glance
Access to ASN services and respositories by applications takes the following forms:
Licensed Access:
- ACSR Statements without URIs. Applications (non-profit and for-profit) may want to provide access to the ASN state and national standards (ACSR) text for user searching and browsing. Such uses do not have access to the document or statement URIs. All such uses require an ASN license. Non-profit uses/Free | For-profit uses/Modest annual fee.
- ACSR Statements with URIs. Applications (non-profit and for-profit) may want to integrate the ACSR into their metadata generation tools with exposure to the ASN URIs for embedding in metadata records. Under this license, exposure to the ASN URIs is reserved to staff of the licensee. Exposure to users for purposes of searching and browsing the standards text is permitted. Exposure of URIs to end users is not permitted. Non-profit uses/Free | For-profit uses/Modest annual fee.
- ACSR URI Resolver. The ACSR URI Resolver is an open, free service that dereferences an ACSR URI and returns the full ASN Taxon Path for the URI dereferenced. More information on ACSR URI dereferencing is available here. Non-profit & For-Profit/Free access
Licensing Terms and Conditions for the ACSR
While much of the standards data in the ASN ACSR is freely available to everyone, as noted above, certain uses are subject to license. A full description of ASN licensing arrangements is available here.
