Dallas, Texas -- National School Boards Association. This unique conference is designed to highlight the many effective ways to improve school performance and student achievement through the wise use of technology across instructional, administrative, and parental-outreach applications.

Details

NSBA's T+L Conference takes place at the Dallas Convention Center, Nov. 8-10, 2006. The Technology Leadership Network Site Visit and Pre-conference workshops take place Tuesday, Nov. 7. A fitting venue, Dallas is where the first T+L Conference was held 20 years ago. In fact, the conference was held in that city for its first eight years and has since returned in 1996, 1999, and 2002. T+L, which stands for Technology + Learning, explores how new technology tools are effectively used across a district in classrooms, administrative applications, parental engagement, and community outreach to improve student achievement.

Districts that join Technology Leadership Network receive a discount on registration. (E-mail Tom Flavell at tflavell@nsba.org to join the network to receive this discount.)

More than 2,000 school district leaders are expected to attend this milestone event. Conference attendees typically include Technology Directors & Coordinators, Superintendents/Assistant, Superintendents, School Board Members, Curriculum Directors, Principals, Staff Development Specialists, Title I Staff., Instructional Leaders, District Administrators, Teachers, IT and School Business Managers, Library/Media Specialists; Academic Testing & Assessment Staff; Community Relations and Consultants.

This year our favorite T+L traditions will continue, including inspiring keynote addresses from Ray Kurzweil, a visionary technologist and educator, Professor James Paul Gee, and Clyde Prestowitz, a noted expert on global change and economic policy. You’ll also find information-packed pre-conference workshops. Our everpopular Education Excellence Fair returns and of course, you and your team can participate in district-led workshops that will inspire and energize you. With powerful programming strands that address the spectrum of technology planning and management needs, and a unique dual focus on both technology planning and technology implementation, your team will return to your district ready to tackle tough challenges and exciting new opportunities.

Don’t miss these unique T+L programming features:
  • district-led workshops and presentations showcase best practices;
  • an interactive exhibit hall with 250+ leading technology solutions providers
  • pre-conference workshops (november 7) that focus in-depth on the topics that matter most to you and your colleagues.
